Classroom MonitorClassroom Monitors are specifically elected to establish an environment where students feel welcome and can learn. They provide feedback to each student that illustrates how well or how poorly they are contributing to the effective functioning of their team. The intent is to help the teams to be more cohesive and productive at the same time that the teacher, students and their parents receive feedback they can use to improve the learning environment as a whole.

Peer ReviewerThe teacher in consultation with the Classroom Monitors pick Peer Reviewers to help students evaluate their work and get better grades. Peer Reviewers help students to succeed by comparing the work to well-defined rubrics, assigning a preliminary score, and providing appropriate, helpful and timely feedback BEFORE the work is submitted for grading by the teacher. To ensure that the feedback is understood, the Peer Reviewers typically fill out a separate grading rubric (Google Form) for each student. When requested they put detailed comments directly into the student's assignment. The intent is to help students to do their best work and allow the teacher to provide more detailed feedback to students and their parents so they know what they can do to improve their grades. While it is preferable to have independent Peer Reviewers, in some situations the Classroom Monitor and/or Reporter may be asked to fill the Peer Reviewer role in addition to all other responsibilities.

Classroom ReporterThe Classroom Reporters are responsible for ensuring that students get recognized for their work and parents feel they are partners in the education process. They do this by providing a window into the classroom and helping both parents and administrators to stay informed about what the students are doing.
