English as a Second LanguageAs part of my everyday classroom instruction I provide educational opportunities that enable the English Language Learner (ELL) to be an independent learner, successful in the classroom, and a productive member of society. I use specific classroom strategies that allow students to develop English language skills at the same time as they achieve academic performance in the subject matter that is comparable to, if not equivalent to, that of native English-speaking students of the same age and grade level.

In-Class Flipped RLA Instruction for Secondary StudentsAfter teaching a flipped course for a year, I signed up for a course specifically designed to explore alternatives for small group instruction using an in-class flipped classroom model. I learned how to create mini-lessons that engage students in the content, allow for differentiated approaches, capitalize on peer collaboration, and provide teacher time for individualized instruction. Alternatives for classrooms with limited technology were explored.
